Why does ProRes always make the background alpha even when alpha isn't selected?

If I render out a project using CMND E and select ProRes 422, Motion renders the alpha channel for the background even though I have alpha deselected in the render settings. What gives?

Thank you!

Actually, there is no alpha channel in the exported file itself. If you place that into the timeline of an app that automatically treats black areas as alpha, it will seem that way. But only ProRes 4444 has an actual alpha channel assigned to the file.

Yeah, thanks. It's black and since I have selected white as my background color, I assumed it made it alpha but it is not. It's just a black solid instead of white. Weird
