what platform does this forum use?

I need to create a similar forum exchange for my work and love this one. Can anyone tell me what software or platform this one is based on? Thanks and sorry for the side topic. I didn't know where else to ask this.

Appreciatively,

Michael

It runs on Jive software.

I realize that ASC runs a modified version of Jive.

However, from my experience with ASC, I would not recommend using Jive to anyone.

This forum is to discuss any questions one has about ASC. In the first three pages of the forum, here are six problems people are having with Apple's version of Jive.

Using Apple Support Communities

Why does Apple Forum not accept questions from an iOS9 iPad Air?

Why won't apple let me post my question?

Why is Apple Support Communities so difficult to use on iPhones?

Also, Adobe use Jive. No idea if Adobe modified Jive, but Adobe gets similar complaints to ASC's.

some discussions from their forum about the community. Here is what I found on the first page.

Why does Adobe make it so hard to mark my question as "answered"? Better yet why is this site so hard to navigate through!

I keep getting an error message when I try to reply to a post. It says "your content can not be saved due to an error."

Why am I not able to do anything any more in terms of editing, deleting, marking correct on comments?

Jive is an "enterprise - WorkFlow Collaboration" solution > https://www.jivesoftware.com/products/jive-n/ - the "discussions" is only a minor component of the Big Picture. Many outfits seems to use it for its "enterprise level" (Bazillions of users) abilities alone - but I'll betcha some of the "Customers" on the TAB on the above linked page have some good things to say.

To be fair, AppleJiveWare seems to have all the components intact - they are just reserved for Status Level bonuses - the User Tip creation is the "document collaboration" component of Jive-n.

BTW, the "content cannot be saved..." error is a result of JavaScript not being very forgiving (or rather getting all 'alert-ie' about handling the errors) - if one persists, it usually keesps on slugging...

The JiveMobile App is the answer for RealJiveWare - I think it likely that it would cause more problems here than it solves.

I have said it before, the AppleJiveWare UX design is a hybrid meant to be usable but not designed to excel on either platform. Solved by Hiroto writing CSSes for mobile view like he did for desktop?

ASC is a buffer for RealApplePeopleSupport - saves $$ = therefore benefits the shareholders. (Imagine 'volunteering' to go to Africa and work in the ebola camps with crumby tools and safety measures - kind of the same here?)

JiveCommunities takes care of their forums - regular maintenance and periodic re-indexing of the databases. Seems to work fine > https://community.jivesoftware.com/ = join up and take a look around, you may find some familiar folks there.
