Can't recognize pendrive only in my macbook

Hi everyone!

I have a 8Gb PNY pendrive that, although my Macbook Pro (2011 - running El Capitan) shows it at the Disk Utility and also mount it at Finder, I can't read or write files, format,...,

When I plug it into my wife's Macbook, I can read and write files, format,... It seems perfect.

I tried to reset PRAM and it didn't work.

My Macbook is reading other pendrives perfectly.

Any ideas???

I really appreciate any support.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Hi there Marcos Borges,

I understand that you have a USB thumb drive that is not being read by your computer, but it works in other computers. I have an article with a few suggestions for addressing this issue, and it can be found below:

OS X Yosemite: If a USB device isn’t working

https://support.apple.com/kb/PH19094

You could also try booting your computer into Safe Mode to see if the behavior changes at all:

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

You may also wish to consider logging into the computer as another user, as this may affect the behavior. Hope this information is helpful. Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.
