iPad mini 3 wifi icon disappears then reappears

Hello guys, I'm having a very strange problem and I'm not sure why.

While I'm connected to wifi, randomly the wifi icon on my iPad will disappear and will reappear after about 10 seconds.

At this point Safari would say that there is no internet connection. But if you check from the settings or the control center, wifi is ON and even connected.

It's as if the iPad is tricked into thinking that there is no internet connection just because the wifi icon disappeared for a few seconds.

This happens to me randomly at least once every hour. Right now I am on iOS 9.1. Tried the 9.2 beta 3&4 with same results. Tried restoring also.

I'm beginning to think that this is a bad wifi antenna problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
