Q: can't copy and paste text boxes in Aperture???

Aperture 3.2.4 here on Lion.

Generally I really, really like Aperture's photo book editor.

However, having said that, there is one really awful shortcoming which makes me curse and growl every time I produce a photobook.

Apparently you cannot copy and paste a Text Box.  So, when you have a nice font and size and colour that is working well for your photobook design, you can't just replicate an existing textbox onto a new page.  Oh no, you have to create a (default settings) new text box and then tediously, manually set the colour, size and font all over again.  Tens of times.  Hundreds of times.  Until you are ready to scream with the boredom and frustration.

I have been googling though Aperture user discussions and finding that this problem has been complained about for years now.

I mean, how many decades has the basic concept of Cut and Paste been around?  And yet you can't c&p text when creating captions for a photobook?  What were they smoking?

If I were to upgrade to a more recent Aperture, would this problem be fixed?

You can copy and paste the content of a text box, but not the box.

But you can save your page with the text box as a new Master page, and when you add a new page, use this master page. Then the new page will have the correct formatting of the text box.
