Problem with headphone jack in macbook pro mid 2012 model

Here is the problem. When i try to plug in my headphones they do not detect but the strange part is when i restart my mac they are seen detected. Then again when i try to unplug and plug them back again, they do not detect.

All i have to do is restart my laptop everytime i want to use the headphones

Troubleshooting done:

1. SMC reset.

2. NVRAM reset

4. booted into safe mode and checked, there are no sound drivers there

5. cleaned the headphone jack from inside using bud

6. did a recovery and the problem does not seebm to have solved
