Change email address associated with my iPad air

my iPad Air is set up with my husband's email address. I want to change the email address to mine. I have tried several ways to do this but it tells me that the address is associated with another. Yes, I do have another iPad associated with the email address I want to change it to. Can't I do this? I would like some easy instructions to do this. The ones I found online didn't make any sense because I could not find the the edit email address they were talking about.

What exactly do you want to change ?

If you want to change the account that is being used for the stores then tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and tap 'sign out' on the popup and you can then log in with a different account. Any content downloaded by your husband's account will remain tied to his account.

For the cloud tap on Settings > iCloud > Sign Out and you can then log in with your account. Similarly for Messages : Settings > Messages > Send & Receive ; and FaceTime : Settings > FaceTime

If you want to change the account that it's registered to then log into your husband's support profile and remove it : https://supportprofile.apple.com/ - and you can then register it to your account.
