Display jumping from color to black/white/grey

Hello,

The other day I opened up my Macbook Air and as I opened up the screen I noticed the display colors were black, grey, and white (not the usual color display it has always been). I noticed that when I moved the screen a little more open or closed I would eventually find a happy spot where the normal color display would appear. This was the first time this has happened to me and I am not sure what is causing it. This has been happening for the past couple of days and I still have not found a solution. Can anyone help find an answer as to why this is happening and provide a solution for me?
