Restoration Loop

I have an ipod 5th generation and it wont turn back on and keeps going to connect to ipod screen no matter what i do. I dont think there are any more ways to fix it from js using power/home button techniques. The only way it can function is displaying the start up apple logo and the connect to itunes image, meaning i now no loger care about preserving the information in the device, I just want it to function. So i want to reset it to factory settings. So when i try to restore it it will go through and through and when it reaches the final steps of restoration the process itself doesnt stop but the progress does, there is a final around 10% i guess that doesnt download and the download bar will just sit at 90%(around there) and do nothing. Can ANYONE help me get my ipod out of this loop???
