If I sync and back up to Icloud, do I still need Outlook

I have a Toshiba Satellite L-500 updgraded to Windows 10 connected to a Ipod Touch 5th Gen. iOS 9.1.

At one time with windows 7 I was able to connect to Outlook, Ipod Touch and my computer and sync

available on all devises.

I have lost this ability.

I find Outlook (2007) awfully complicated, and cumbersom to use. I am not even sure if I need it

if I am using ICloud sync and backup.

I am using Google Chrome as a browser and my contacts are fine between my computer and Ipod Touch.

What I am trying to accomplish is to have my contacts, calander and notes to sync automatilcally on

my Ipod Touch, Computer and ICloud.

I also find the ITune and Oulook interfaces very complicated and I wonder if anyone have an easier

soulution.
