Formatting Seagate external SSHD 1TB to FAT32

Hi,

Im doing a PS4 upgrade and in order for my PS4 system to recognise my new external drive (in order for me to back it up) i need to config the new external seagate drive to FAT32 - I've gone through all the steps and currently its sitting idle on the macbook pro, seeming to not doing anything - 2.5 hours in and the progress bar hasn't moved? Does this usually take a while? Its connected via USB to the MBP.

I can't feel any vibrations (signs of movement) from the drive?

Seagate 2TB HDD is the new external drive I'm using to back up. Running El Capitan on MBP
