How do I set Time Machine to backup external drive?
I've moved my iPhoto library to a partition of a new external drive but forgot to have Time Machine back up the new drive. Can I still do that now? Thanks!

Depending on the version of OS X installed, it will likely do that by default.
I don't think Time Machine is designed to back up anything except the boot partition.

That is incorrect information. Please look over the following article, I backup 2 EHD's in addition to my 2 internal HDs.

It should backup the EHD automatically unless you set it to not be backed up in Time Machine's preferences. How is the partition formatted and how is the drive connected to the Mac?
Force a backup and when it's done check the last backup folder on the TM drive to see if the EHD is included.
This shows my boot drive, second internal drive and two external drives.
If the drive isn't included add it to the Excluded list
Close TM, reboot, open TM preferences and remove it from the excluded list.
