Disable Music app Autoplay in Car

I have looked all over the internet to find a solution to this problem, without much luck.

How can I disable the Music app from starting when I get into my car?

I have my phone connected via bluetooth to my vehicle, for hands free calls. I will, occasionally, play music over the stereo - but that doesn't mean I want to play all music every time I get into the car. Sometimes, if I have my car set on an FM station, the autoplay will play over the iPhone 6s speakers instead of the radio.

This is, so far, the biggest nuisance I've found in switching from a Samsung Galaxy to an iPhone.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.1

That is not a function of the phone, it's a function of the audio system in your car. The phone is simply responding to a command from the head unit to begin playback.

I have this problem too, this is a terrible nuisance and I found one possible solution online which I have not tried yet is to hard close the music app before it connects to the car audio system. Nevertheless I feel that the iphone should have an automatic contingency for this not to happen.

What part of "That is not a function of the phone" was unclear?

Your phone is only reacting to commands from the head unit in your car. Go complain to the manufacturer of your car.

Although this may be caused by the car system (I would like to hear from Apple to confirm this), Apple should not let this happen, and should create a fix. I did not have this problem with my iphone 5S, same car.
