Q: reset/erase Ipad2

Does reset or erase remove IOS updates to device? Thinking of getting Ipad air2 and give ipad2 to grandson.

No. It does not remove iOS updates. There is no way to downgrade iOS.

IM grandma who loves her IPads..another quick question please:
i have never signed into my cloud on iPhone 5c or iPad 2 to save anything
( not very trusting of who "Cloud" is haha)
if I get a new device would signing into cloud in old device before erasing save my contacts,pictures,notes?
OR is it already there?
