My iphone got frozen for over four hours. What should I do now? Should I drain the battery and restart it later?

My iphone 5s stopped working and at present it is frozen. I am just waiting for the battery to die down and restart the phone. Please, let me know if you have any ideas other than that.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.1

A forced restart may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

No content is affected by this procedure.

I tried that, but it is not restarting. It is just blinking.
