finder sidebar font size snow leopard

How do you change the font size of the finder sidebar in Snow Leopard? My old folks need a larger font size on their Mac. I've increased thru CMD-J the font on folders, and I am trying to increase fonts on the sidebar. I've read old posts saying to go to System Preferences > General > Sidebar. However, in 10.6.8 there doesn't seem to be this path.
