How do I remove downloaded movies from my laptop?

I keep getting the dreaded "your startup disk is almost full" message and want to remove extra stuff off of my Macbook Pro. In iTunes I have a number of movies, some ON the laptop and I would like to remove them. I'm assuming I can download them when I want them to devices like the AppleTV or an iPad which are all synced to my AppleID, yes? I just want them OFF of my hard drive where I don't look at them!

Thanks.

That's a dangerous assumption. I believe some studios do not allow that, and even those that do might decide to pull an item or replace it with a different version which won't show as purchased.

Buy two external hard drives (one for backup because one can always fail) and we can help you move items to those.
