First generation Apple TV will not set the date so won't let me sign in! Internet and everything is fine please help

Can someone plz help my first generation Apple TV will not set the time, so therefore it won't let me sign in to my apple account! The Internet is connected so are all cables! Trying on a up to date iPhone 5s which it connects fine on there!

It isn't properly connected to the network

Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general- network)

If on wifi try Ethernet

Make sure router has port 123 open (refer to manual if unsure)
