Keynote and Photo won't update

I have an reminder (that comes up every day) that I have applications that need to be updated. The applications are Keynote and Photos. When I try to update them I get an error message that says "This update is not available for this apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."

Im the only user on this system. The software is free. This makes no sense.

I am running OS X 10.11.1

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), null

The Mac App store checks your history to see if you are eligible for software downloads.

If you are not logged in as the user that originally obtained the software you will be denied access.

If you think this is wrong, contact Apple Support and they will sort it out. Go to: Apple Menu > About this Mac > Support > OS X Support
