My iPhone 5s won't let me add Gmail as my Mail setting.
Every time I click on the option for Google, it pops up the window and immediately closes, not allowing me to choose Gmail as my Mail. Please help!

I have this exact same problem...
I can go to: Mail, Contacts, Calendars --> Add Account --> Google --> (accounts.google.com)---> Login Successfully --->Permissions screen "iOS Would like to: etc etc- "Deny" or "Allow" --> Select Allow, then following screen where you can select and save options pops up and immediately closes. Gmail/Google account not added.
I've deleted my google account, unable to add back. This problem originated when my gmail was not retrieving messages properly. Now, all my contacts are gone as well. Please help!
