Why won't Safari load certain websites?

Why won't Safari load certain websites?

My MacBook Pro will not open about 5 websites that I know of so far and its driving me crazy! I type the web address in and all it does is give me a blank screen.

any advice is greatly appreciated

MacBook Pro, iOS 9.1

Safari - Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

Safari doesn't load a page or webpage items are missing

Safari/other browsers – Website not loading
