I have a password that requires the ø symbol but my mac book pro won't let me type that character. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks!

Thanks for the response! I m running on is x Yosemite version 10.10.5 . Yes I tried what you suggested but when I choose the character it does not go through. Instead a regular o has been selected. It won't let me choose the character.
Again, when the window displays, are you clicking on the number "6" key: ø....you continue to hold down the "o" key, and then press the "6" key at the same time. it will make it what you see has printed in this reply:
ø
Ø
Cheers,

I Hold the "o" keyuntil the symbols pop up (like in the picture you posted), then hit the number 6. Once that's done the result is "o" not ø like it should be. I have also tried clicking the symbol with the track pad while I'm holding the ø character. When I click 6 my MacBook does that Nono sound when it can't compete a request
SSorry I should of mentioned that im trying to use the ø symbol for wifi password. Im typing my phone and it keeps wigging out on me so not all information is making its way through.
So, that is probably why it won't let you, since you are typing into a password box on an internet window. Not sure what to tell you.... 😟
Sorry,
GB
i'm just trying to Connect to a Wi-Fi network that's requesting a password. The requested password contains the ø symbol along with other letters and numbers. But my Mac wont let me do the symbol. Thanks for the help I appreciate it!
