Can't drag photo's

I recently updated my macbook to El Capitan and when I logged into my laptop I noticed that something was wrong. My Applications didn't want to close and I had to do a force shut down. After that I noticed that I could no longer drag photos to my imessage icon and send them. If I go to my finder and drag photos from there it'll let me, but I can't drag photo's from chrome, or any website that i go to. Help?
