How do you change Apple ID in iCloud preference panel?

I needed to change my Apple ID (email address) on my Apple account. The iCloud preference panel still shows my old address. How do I change it to new address?

So, have you changed your Apple ID yet? If not, then:

1. Sign out of iCloud

2. Go to Apple - My Apple ID, sign in with your current Apple ID email address, and EDIT it to the new address that you will be using for your Apple ID

3. Go back to iCloud and sign in with then new ID

Be sure to also sign out of: Messages, FaceTime, and if you are using the same ID that you are changing for iTunes, sign out of the iTunes and the Mac App Store

I have a new Apple ID, but my iCloud preferences has my old Apple ID email address. Do I need to sign out of it, and then sign in with my new Apple ID? Will this cause me to lose all my contacts and calendar info?

Yes, you need to sign out. No, you won't lose any iCloud info. It is stored in iCloud. It will delete it from your Mac when you sign out, then push it back when you sign back in.
