I have a 15 inch Mid 2010 Macbook Pro. I want to get the Asus PB287Q 4K monitor as an external.
Am I correct that my Macbook will only allow 2560 x1600 on the Asus?
What cable would I need to connect?
Would I be able to have a second external monitor running off the same mac? I am currently using a Dell Ultra sharp 2005FPW.

You are correct, 2560x1600 is the highest and connect with mini display to display port cable or mini display to HDMI cable(adapter).

Note if yo use the HDMI input on the monitor yo need a mini displayport>HDMI adopter that support >1080p resolution. The default is only 1080p max.

You need to get a mini display port>HDMI adopter that supports > 1080p. Few doat the present time.
