screen repeatedly locks on sleep, stand metric no longer measures, notifications don't work consistently

iPhone 6, iOS 9.1; Apple Watch iOS2.0.1

So for no apparent reason, my Apple Watch decided to start messing a few things up. First, with passcode enabled, the screen locks every single time it "sleeps"/turns off when I lower my wrist. This requires me to type in the passcode every single wrist raise. It used to only lock when I took it off, and I enabled unlock with iPhone (which also doesn't seem to work right anymore). Second, the Activity app no longer measures the standing metric -- at all. Stays at zero all day even though the other two metrics measure just fine. In addition to that, it provides no reminders to stand, even though all reminders are enabled. It also started being inconsistent with general notifications (text messages etc.) in that it doesn't always play a haptic/sound, or even register on the Apple Watch. All these things used to function with no issues in the past. I've unpaired and reset the Apple Watch both from a backup restore, and again as a new Apple Watch. Neither attempt fixed the problem. Is this an iOS2 problem?

Hi Jay

Try these steps:

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - enable this. If this setting is already enabled: try disabling it, pausing for a few moments, then re-enabling it.

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - turn Fitness Tracking off (or turn it on, if it is currently turned off).

Restart both devices by turning both off together first, then restarting your iPhone before restarting your watch:

- To turn your iPhone off: press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears; drag it to turn off. To restart, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button.

- To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off. To turn it back on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

If you turned Fitness Tracking off in step 2, now return to the setting and re-enable it.

Thank you for the prompt reply, Jonathan. Unfortunately, none of the steps you provided solved any of my problems. Passcode, Activity, and the running app are all basically useless to me at this point because of these issues. The running app even likes to pause every time the Watch screen goes to sleep. It's behaving almost as if every time the Watch screen goes to sleep it thinks I'm taking the Watch off my wrist. I have a suspicion that may be the underlying cause to all the issues.
