iTunes 12.3.1 corrupted library and the spinning beachball of tedium

I submitted this a week ago but I'm afraid that it went under the radar as it garnered no response so I thought I'd try it again:

I've searched the board and haven't found something exactly like what I'm facing. After upgrading iTunes to 12.3.1, I realized that my library file was likely corrupted. I had all of my music, but every time I clicked on something or moved to the iTunes store, I'd get the beach ball and it would take at least 90 seconds for the command to be carried out. Even attempts at scrolling would cause this to happen.

I tried generating a new library by importing an .xml version, which did retain my playlists, but I still had the same problem with delayed actions and the spinning beachball. I created a new library and imported my music which solved the slow response problem, but of course, I then didn't have my playlists. I tried importing a playlist .txt file, but only received a message indicating that some of the files could not be found, resulting in no playlists being imported. This was after I assured that the music was being properly identified as the iTunes media location in the Preferences panel. I have lots of playlists and a very large library and I'm desperately hoping that there is a solution to get my playlists imported somehow. I would also love it if I could also get back my original "Date Added" and "Plays" info. Using a slightly older Time Machine library also did not make any difference.

Am I missing something?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages

from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

View ▹ Show Log List

from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

When you post the log extract, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

If you have an account on Pastebin, please don't select Private from the Paste Exposure menu on the page, because then no one but you will be able to see it.

To start with, here's the log that was generated when I tried to import the playlist to the new iTunes Library. I'll also try to generate one with the old library that was apparently corrupted and resulting in the spinning beachball:

And this is what I got when I selected the old, corrupted Library. Occasionally the beachball would stop spinning, but usually only for a few seconds before starting up again. While it was spinning, I could move the main window around, but nothing else responded either in that window or from the menu. I launched Activity Monitor during this time and it was showing that iTunes was using just about 100% of the CPU and would intermittently indicate that iTunes was not responding. It's been near 30 minutes and I still have not been able to do anything in iTunes.
