I'm trying to erase my ipad mini 3 to the factory settings. When I click on Erase data and settings. It asks for my password. I type it in but it won't recognize it. I even reset the icloud password and it still didn't work. Any suggestions, other than throwing it out the window? Thanks!

I got the same problem, but then I realized that the internet was not connected, so nothing reacted to the password! Make sure your wifi or 4G is on!
Trying hard reset, doesn't recognize icloud password
