Q: Why does it ask for iPad passcode during iCloud set up on mac

I Have just upgraded to El Capitan from Mavericks and during set up it asked me for the passcode to my iPad. Why is this? I can't find anything about it.

    Hey there Billy Chick,

I understand that you have a question about a message you are seeing when setting up iCloud on your Mac. I believe that this message is most likely asking for you to set up a passcode for iCloud Keychain, not asking for your passcode from your iPad:

What is the iCloud Security Code?

When you set up iCloud Keychain, you can create an iCloud Security Code. It can be a 4-digit code similar to the passcode lock for your device, or you can have a more complex code automatically generated for you. The iCloud Security Code is used to authorize additional devices to use your iCloud Keychain. It's also used to verify your identity so that you can perform other iCloud Keychain actions, such as recovering your iCloud Keychain if you lose all your devices.

Thanks for the reply Braden. Hope that's what it is. It asked for a passcode and named the device, so maybe I didn't read it fully.  I don't recall it saying keychain anywhere though. I'll see if I can evoke it again somehow to have another look.
