Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Upgrading to one 8gb ram slot and leaving a preexisting 2gb slot.

Is it ok to have 10gb that way? Will it have a negative impact on the performance instead of 2 x 4gb? I have a 2011 13" 2.30hz i5 MacBook Pro.


Grateful for any help.

Additional notes For best performance, fill both memory slots, installing an equal memory module in each slot.
