How do I ensure that I do not lose previous downloads from the App Store to my MacBook Pro when the connection fails?

How do I ensure that I do not lose previous downloads of App from the App Store when my internet connection temporarily goes off? I am using a 2014 MacBook Pro. If I am downloading a 6.7 GB App, and lose internet connection after 6.5 GB has been downloaded, the download starts from 0 GB when internet connection is restored.

Look on your "Purchases" page. If the download can be continued (not always true) you will get a Resume Button there.

Thanks for your quick response, Grant. However, even when I see Resume, I still have to start all over again. Very frustrating. Waste of MB
