I've transferred over to Photos from iPhoto and I have a shared stream named "family" which I don't use.
How can I delete it?
iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11), 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8GB
The Shared Family Album cannot be disabled, as long as you have Family Sharing enabled. It is created automatically.
If you created an shared album named "Family" yourself, ctrl-click it and use the command "Delete Shared Album":
