Q: Bluetooth Edit Serial Ports

Hi,

I need to connect two computers by a serial Bluetooth connection, being that one of them is my MacBook and the other has a Bluetooth USB dongle. I can pair the two devices but my Mac insists on considering that the other computer is a audio device, and thus it does not create a serial port for communications...

In this tutorial I found that in previous OSX versions it was possible to change the Buetooth device's service, but in ElCapitan I can't find a way... Can anybody tell me how to do it? The window I'm looking for is this one.

Your Mac already has this capability. What you must do is configure the other device to transmit a Bluetooth profile for networking.

And how shall I do it? I'm using BlueMan on Ubuntu Mate on the other machine.
And by the way, you don't happen to know if it is still possible to open the preferences I referenced in the image.

Hi, did you find a solution? I have to same problem: I want my mobile phone to communicate with my mac via bluetooth spp so that it can emulate a keyboard to the mac. Thx in advance...
