Gmail not synching properly to iPhone

MY Gmail inbox on my web looks fine. It is showing all the most recent emails and everything but my inbox on my iPhone is showing a few recent emails and then it shows emails from 2010. I have removed and added the account several times and it is still not working. Please help!
