Trouble with iPhoto update

I am trying to update to iPhoto 9.6.1, but keep getting the following error message "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID..." because it was bought by a different user. This is not correct. There is no other user. Any idea how to fix this?

Apple stopped selling iPhoto and so the update is not available for any AppleID at all.

You can try to update by reinstalling, however. This requires that iPhoto is showing in your Purchases history. Open the fourth tab of the App Store. Does iPhoto show on the Purchases tab?

If yes, then delete iPhoto from the Applications folder. but do not empty the Trash. Now open the Purchases tab again. You should see "Install" to the right of iPhoto. Click it.

Can you now install iPhoto? iPhoto 9.6.1 requires MacOS X 10.10 or later.
