iTunes (v 12.3.1.23) keeps closing playing albums

Hey guys,

ever since I downgraded from El Capitan to Yosemite I am having problems with my iTunes. Whenever I play a song if I select another window, or I minimize iTunes window, when I get back to it it will close the album where the playing song is and refresh the page (scroll back up) to the beginning of the albums (Recently added section). This is so annoying since if I want to play another song from the same album I have to search for it again,... when you have a lot of albums it becomes very time consuming.

I hope that someone has an idea what the problem could be, and what steps to take in order to bring the program to the normal working state.
