Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

My ipod 5th generation won't turn on, and Reboot doesn't work.

Okay, so a few weeks ago I turned by Ipod (5th gen, I have had it for about two years) off so I could watch a theater performance. It hadn't had the new update as I have not had internet for a while. Later that day when I tried to turn it on, it wouldn't(I also dropped it shortly after that cracking the screen). I tried to Just use the on button, which then the apple logo would appear and then after a minute it would go black. I tried rebooting but the same thing happened. I tried lots of button combinations but not matter what it just won't finish starting up. It tires to turn on whenever its plugged into something, but in the end it just goes black again. One time when it was plugged into the wall and I tried to reboot it, and it didn't turn on, I tried holding the home button. Then this one thing appeared where it basically said to plug it into iTunes, but I didn't get it to the computer before the symbol disappeared.

It's kinda banged up around the edges, (had a dent right near the speaker part), and now the screens black, but It has never done this before and was working perfectly before I turned it off.

Does anyone know of something I can do to fix it? I'll take any suggestions. Also, does anyone know what could be wrong with it in the first place and if I need to take it to a shop or specialist?

Try the remaining items of:

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try another cable

- Try on another computer

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
