Random characters when typing

Hi there,

Lately my keyboard is putting out some weird characters when typing. Mainly the number section are affected.

I will type just the number keys to give a demonstration

12`3§4]5[6=789 (8&9 work like up and down arrows when clicked)

I have contacted the Apple support team. They suggested safe mode but it did not change anything.

Using - MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
