YouTube uses up a huge amount of battery life when I use it in my iPhone 6s

I Just got my iPhone 6s, I love it, but I have noticed one thing... When I used the YouTube app to watch considerably short videos (Around 3-5 minutes) my battery percentage drops anywhere from 3-9 percent just from that one video. Does anyone know why? Is there anything I can do about it? Thanks!
