How to add a background image to the cover of an ebook in Pages

I'm using the ebook template, and trying to change the background on the first page/cover.

But there doesn't seem to be any way for me to get the image behind the text.

I can set Text Wrap to None and it will put it in front of the text, even when I move it as far as possible to the back...not helpful at all.

Or I can use any of the other Text Wrap setting and make the text move all around the image. But again, not helpful.

How do I put the image behind the title and subtitle text??

Select object > change Object Placement to Stay on Page > Menu > Arrange > Section Masters > Move Object to Section Master

Whether an eBook will pay attention to that is another matter.

Thanks for the quick answer!

It worked, but it also applied the same image as the background image to every page of the document... which I'll take if that's the best I can get...
But do you know of a way to limit that image to the first page only?

It is a Section Master, so applies to all pages in a section.

Click in text at bottom of the first page > Menu > Insert > Section Break

Then click in the 2nd page and turn off the Copy from Previous in the Document Section sidebar.

When you Export : ePub, take note of the Advanced Options that offers to optionally Use the first page as the book cover image. Combining this option, with Peter's advice on first page image isolation should do the job.
