I just brought an iPhone 1st Generation and is running iPhone OS 2.1.2 and i was going to update it to iPhone OS 3.1.3 but i got an error "iTunes Backup was Corrupt or Not Compatible" I have never backed it up (because i just got it) so is there a fix??

I fixed it
First iplugged it into my iMac g4 erasing it and it failed 3/4 so then i tried a again in DFU mode this time using my mac mini and it worked. So you have to put into DFU mode first.
