Is it possible to sync an iPhone to an iPad without a computer?
Would like to purchase a new iPad Pro instead of MacBook laptop (don't need a laptop.)
Online research says you have to plug the USB plug into a computer to sync.
Hope there is a possibility in the future, by using the pencil port charger on the iPad Pro?

Hope Apple is aware of this? That little pencil charger will hopefully have another useful function, other than to charge the pencil!

What did you try exactly?
Apps are automatically downloaded assuming you're using the same apple ID & password & settings
(Settings > iTunes & App Store > Automatic Downloads > select here)
Data from Notes, Calendars, Pages, Numbers & Keynotes, etc. are also sync to iCloud Drive
(Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive > select here)
