mail coming is lost into Archive

Question

This morning received answer from a colleque

But I could NOT find it..

I asked him to send again..

I could still not find it..

By accident I happened to find the mails in Archive

What is going on ???

I cannot see I have configured that behaviour.

I use MAIL all the time

I have configured it on my iPhone6 as well (and an Ipad)

Is is very confusing to have this situation.

The colloquies are shaking their heads .. he is less intelligent (me of cause) .. well I just use mail.

Have you created any Mail rules?

Yes there is standard mail rules from Apple,

but these only change color as I can see.

Is it a Gmail account?

Gmail has a Label called All Mail that stores every email you've ever processed. Gmail can label a message with multiple labels.

Mail maps the All Mail label to the Archive folder.

Others have posted similar behavior with Gmail accounts and Mail. You can try disabling All Mail label in IMAP in the Gmail settings:

I have now disabled Show in IMAP for "All Mail"...
