Can I tell what OS my Time Machine backups used?

I've decided to go back to Snow Leopard on my mid-2009 MacBook Pro (from Mavericks) and have read that I can restore files from my Time Capsule using Time Machine.

My MacBook sat dormant from late 2011 when I was running Snow Leopard due to extensive travel. I brought it with me to my new home in South America in March 2014. I don't remember when I upgraded to Mavericks. There's a gap in my Time Machine backups from late 2011 when I last used my MacBook until March 2014.

Obviously I'd like to use the most recent Time Machine backup possible to restore files once I get Snow Leopard back. Is there a way of knowing when this would be, or do I just need to assume that I upgraded to Mavericks in early 2014? I'm having a Mac tech do the heavy lifting but would like to backup everything first and formulate a plan. I speak Spanish but not well enough to explain and understand computer terms, backup strategies, etc., so I'm asking here hoping to find out as much as I can before going to the tech.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

I don't think there is any way to tell..

However you do not lose anything if you make a backup of the TC now..

Simply open the airport utility and go to the disk tab.. select archive.. you will need to plug in a suitable sized USB drive.. (equal to the TC disk size or bigger.. or at least as big as all the files if say the disk is only half full.. do give yourself breathing space.. 20% is not excessive).

Once archived you can plug this disk into your mac and manually restore files at your leisure.
