Extremely Slow Downloads

I have a 1GB Up/Down fiber connection and my downloads for updates are very very slow.

iTunes was going to take 30 minutes to download so I just downloaded from another website...in 12 seconds (a non-Apple mirror).

Then I restored an iPad in iTunes and that is currently at 38 minutes remaining, not sure I want to figure out how to download that without going to Apple...but a 1/2 hour is a long time to wait...

Anyone else having these issues?

Sometimes you can get better speeds from Apple's servers by logging out of and then back into the App Store, waiting 10 seconds in between. App Store menu > Store > Sign Out

Your iPad restore could be normal but need more info on it. How much data are you restoring? Reading between the lines, it sounds like an iCloud restore?
