Take a look at this:

Use iTunes to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Erase all content and settings on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch - Apple Support

If Find My iPhone is enabled on the phone, you'll need to turn it off before restoring. For that, you'll need the Apple ID password.
