I have an OS-X Yosemite Mac and would like to send groups from my contact list to someone who does not have a MAC.
How can I do this
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
Select the group or selected contacts and use the File ➙ Export ➙ Export vCard menu option.
The vCard is the format that is the default format for cross platform use according to Wikipedia.
I did that, and it worked forwarding to a mac address on my mac, but it did not work forwarding the list to a yahoo address.
What to do?

I called my friend that I am sending the list to. She only got the first name and not the whole list.
Can you think of any other way to do this. I am really desperate as I have typed in 7 lists and don't want to repeat all my work.

Open one the vCard files you created with a text editor and so a search for a couple of the names that should be in there. That will tell you if you got more than one name in the file. If they are there compress the file and send it to your friend.
The only other approach that I know of is to export the group as a pdf file. You'll get a pdf that she can open and copy and paste into her address book.
Re: Mac contact list. I would like to send complete groups of contacts via email to someone who does not have a MAC. How do I do that?
