Q: Loose component inside Apple watch sport 42mm

Dear All,

 

Since a couple of days I have noticed that when I shake my Apple watch 42MM sport (with or without bands attached) I can hear something loose inside, not really loose as if one component is detached and just moving inside the watch but I can feel that there is something moving when the watch is shaken (Taptic engine)?

Just to make it clear the noise is similar to a click noise that a laptop mouse makes.

Everything seems to be working fine but it kind of bothers me since I've got the watch only a few months ago and I've never dropped it or damaged it.

 

Is any of you experiencing the same? Is it normal? Do I need to go and make a Genius bar appointment? I live in Indonesia so is there anyway to get a replacement or fix it in a country that does not have Apple Stores?

    If you have a product defect you need to address it with Apple - in person is best but you can contact them using email  or Phone - there is a contact us link at the bottom of this page

    Hi Emanuele

     

    You certainly need to have your watch checked under warranty.

     

    However, warranty service will not be available in Indonesia until Apple Watch has launched there (being available to buy there either directly from Apple or from Apple Authorised Distributors).

     

    You can otherwise obtain warranty service in a country where Apple Watch has already launched.

    Alright I decided to give my watch a shake after reading this also. I have the same watch as you, and I think it's normal, but I'm getting my watch checked anyway. My advice is to stop shaking your watch because if this is a serious issue, shaking it will only make it worse.
