Can't Discover Bluetooth Keyboard

After resetting the NVRAM on my iMac (late 2012) running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, the iMac no longer recognizes the bluetooth keyboard. I've attached a USB keyboard, and deleted the old Bluetooth keyboard in the Bluetooth System Preferences and restarted the iMac several times. The iMac is searching for the keyboard, but it says no keyboard found. I've replaced the batteries in the keyboard and turned it on and off many times. The green light comes on but doesn't stay on. My bluetooth trackpad works fine. I'm not sure what else I can do to pair the bluetooth keyboard with my iMac. Anyone experience this?

Thank you for your prompt reply Eric. I had already searched the discusssions here and had found all the articles you mentioned in your reply. I tried all the solutions that were suggested, and I still have the problem. I can pair other devices fine. Both the trackpad, and Apple Magic Mouse connect fine. I can also pair a Bose Mini Sound Link across the room from my iMac, so I don't think there is anything interfering with the Bluetooth signal. I'm at a loss. I can still use my iMac with an old USB keyboard I have on hand, but would really like to use the wireless keyboard. If I go to System Preferences>Keyboard>Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard..., the iMac searches for the keyboard but the message says, "No keyboad found"

I'm sure the batteries are fresh, and are inserted properly. Thanks again.
