Stolen iPad that has a passcode on it

Hi, my iPad got stolen and luckily I got it back. When I turn it on it asks for a passcode.

I have no idea what it could be an I am hoping there is a way I can save all of my stuff, mostly my photos.

i really dont want to restore it.
